A systematic method to investigate the dynamics of magnetic slider-media interface system is described. Specifically, we have overcome the slider ringing phenomena of flying heads over, landing, or taking-off in contact-start stop(abbr.CSS)zone at inside diameter zone, without sacrificing laser textured media CSS and stiction performance. This is the first reported media that are used in volume production & calibration commercially. Unlike other vendors' media which have compact-spaced bumps that caused excitations to 48^<th> harmonic order, the present unique approach is avoidance of resonance harmonics at all operating speeds by optimization of bump densities. The paper demonstrates by widening the bump-spacing requires careful modeling, and confirmation of absence of resonance, while taking into tribological considerations into account.
