We report on the mechanical reliability of Indium tin oxide(ITO)electrodes on polymer substrates. We show scanning electron micrographs of surface defects in the ITO film and damage caused by bending, tension, indentation and impact. The change in resistance with increasing tensile strain is reported and related to cracking of the ITO layer. The resistance of ITO changes with temperature and follows an Arrhenius relationship. The activation energy of the thermal process is dependent on the substrate.
