• Praying 50th year of the victims of the atomic bomb explosion, Nagasaki had a peace memorial concert at Urakami Cathedral on June 13 and 14,1995. With HDTV, NHK Nagasaki videotaped the Whole performance, Mahler's second symphony "Revival", by the New Japan Philharmony Symphony Orchestra with conductor Seiji Ozawa. Our principal effort for recording was to keep a solemn atmosphers of the cathedral. For that reason, we set handmade hanging microphone as well as 5 cameras. At the beginning we concerned that HDTV screen would not be suitable for the cathedral's high ceiling, but it turned out opposite. HDTV even achieved the gleam fro the stained grass.
