Using highly purified sodium hyaluronate from rooster comb, we studied the relationship between the intrinsic viscosity and the molecular weight obtained by the low-angle laser light scattering technique. The equation of the relationship between the intrinsic viscosity and the molecular weight is [η]=3.9×10^<-4>×M^<0.77_w>. Gel permeation chromatography of the hyaluronate preparations was also performed.
