• The mature larvae and puparia of 4 Japanese species of the genus Volucella, V. pellucens, V. suzukii, V. nitobei and V. nigricans, are studied, and those of V. pellucens are described and illustrated. Nomenclature of the larval segmental processes is also discussed.
