Light trap collections of Abraxas miranda BUTLER showed that about 93% was the male in spite of the 1 : 1 sex ratio of adult emerging in the laboratory. There was a difference in the time of flight activity between the sexes. In the female, flight activity reached its peak between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., while in the male between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. in the 1st brood in May, and between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. in the 2nd brood in September. A peak of adult emergence occurred between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. in the female, but at around 4 a.m. in the male. Mating usually took place at around 4 a.m. Females mated in the night of their emergence, but males did not always do so. The moths were active in two separated periods, after sunset and before sunrise. However, intensive flight of the male was observed only before sunrise, and it seems to be related to the sexual behavior.
