Radiation Therapy in the Philippines just like in any other country is a multidisciplinary field involving Radiotherapists, Medical Physicist and Radiotherapy Technologists. A nationwide survey conducted showed that there are only 15 practicing Radiotherapists, 7 Medical Physicists and 23 Radiotherapy Technicians in the whole country with a population of 60 millions. At present, there are 12 hospitals in the country with facilities for Radiation Therapy. Eight of these are concentrated in Metro Manila and only four are in the provinces. There are 23 schools nationwide offering Radiation Technology. All of these schools are private institutions. Of these, only 15 schools offer Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology (B. S. R. T.). Only in B. S. R. T. degree program is unit course in Radiation Therapy included in the curriculum. Only one school has included in its program and internship in a Radiotherapy Department which enables the students to gain practical experience. In this paper the current status and future prospects of Radiotherapy Technology in the country are presented and discussed.
