This is a biogeographical study on six important pests injurious to rice-plants in Japan, based on the ratio of occurrence area of the species. As the results of the study, local characters concerning the pest fauna or pest occurrence type are specified from various points of view, and in mamy cases the opposition between the northern and southern parts is recognized commonly. The biometeorological survey of the pest occurrence type is also practised in this paper. Special attention is paid to the N/S ratio (the ratio of the northern species against the southern species), in order to compare the northern parts with the southern parts, and the relationship between the N/S ratio and some climatical factors is observed. It is concluded that the air temperature is more important factor than the precipitation so far as the N/S ratio is concerned. The correlation coefficient befween the N/S ratio and the annual mean temperature is -0.88.
