• A new collembolan belonging to the genus Plutomurus YOSII, 1956, is described and illustrated from Hokkaido, North Japan, under the name of P. borealis. It is not a cave species, and differs very clearly from edaphic Plutomurus edaphicus YOSII, 1967.
