In a supercolonial ant Formica (Formica) yessensis FOREL, some workers mass-marked on a nest are often rediscovered on other nests, suggesting their frequent nest changes. Since about one third of workers baited on a nest carry food into other nests, distinction of "home nest" and "visiting nest" was attempted by individual marking. Each individually marked worker can actively, not passively carried by transporters, change their homes from one nest to another. Internest trips seem to be carried out along the fixed routes combining neighboring nests. Drifting ratio of intranest workers is fairly lower than that of extranest workers.
