Aclitus sappaphis n. sp. which is parasitic on Sappaphis pyri MATSUMURA, a root-aphid, is described, together with some biological notes. The systematic position of the genus Aclitus is discussed on the basis of additional evidences from the present study. In conclusion the genus is considered as an intermediate form between Aphidiini and Trioxini belonging to Aphidiinae, and is very primitive on one side but remarkably specialized in accord with the subterranean mode of life on the other.
