In August, 1960, the Scientific Expedition Society of Kyushu University (SESKU) carried out the scientific survey to the Koshiki Islands, off the western coast of South Kyushu. In this paper, the author records 24 species of the family Coccinellidae from the islands based on the materials collected by the survey. Two of them, Harmonia octomaculata (Fabricius) and Scymnus (Scymnus) marinus H. Kamiya have not been recorded from the mainland of Kyushu and two others, Lemnia biplagiata (Swartz) and Verania discolor (Fabricius), represent the northernmost record of the distribution of the species. The structure of male genitalia (Fig. 1) of Scymnus (Scymnus) marinus H. Kamiya, 1961, which was described from a unique female specimen, is described as follows : Sipho moderately slender, basal half of sipho rounded, semicircular ; a membranous extention being at the apical third of sipho ; apex of sipho curved to outwards. Siphonal capsule with a rather long inner process and a short outer process. Tegmen moderately stout ; the shape of median piece of tegmen boatlike with a pointed apex in ventral aspect ; lateral lobes of tegmen slightly longer than the median piece. Median strut of tegmen very stout and strongly arched. As this structure of genitalia is so closely allied to that of Sc. (Sc.) nigrosuturalis from the Loochoos, it is very difficult to distinguish the two species only by that structure.
