• The writers report here a brief note on the larva of Thranius variegatus Bates (Fig. 1) belonging to the family Cerambycidae and on its food plants which have not been recorded. The food plants of the larva are Shiia Sieboldi Makino, Ulmus japonica Sargent and Mallotus japonicus Muller, Arg. which belong to different families respectively. The larva differs in external structures from those of other tribe and its feeding trace shows a special type. Also, the distribution of this species is discussed.
