An incurvariid moth, Vesping nielseni Kozlov, 1987, which was originally described from the Russian Far East is newly recorded from Japan. The adults including the male and female genitalia are redescribed. The biology and morphology of immature stages are described for the first time. The larva was found to feed on the leaves of Quercus aliena, Q. serrata, and occasionally on Q. acutissima, forming a portable case. The case is similar to that of Vespina quercivora (Davis, 1972), being of oval sections cut from the host leaves. The mature larva was remarkably different in morphology from the preceding instar.
