• Evidence is given showing that Pelopidas jansonis has three broods in a year in Kanto plain, Japan. It is shown that the size of the third-brood adults defined by the fore-wing length varies more widely than those of the first- or second-brood adults. Mean adult sizes among the three broods were compared quantitatively.
