• Distribution of extracellular matrix components, collagen and fibronectin, in the scale of the medaka, Oryzias latipes, was examined. The highly arranged collagen bundles were identified in the scale with polarization microscopy and Nomarski differential interference microscopy. The meshwork pattern of fibronectin was also revealed by immunofluorescent technique.
