The neural gland of the simple Ascidian, Halocynthia roretzi (Drasche) was examined by light- and electronmicroscopy. It was found that most of the cells of the neural gland are binucleated. No seasonal changes were observed as far as examined. The significance of binucleate cells in the neural gland remains to be elucidated.
