Of the fouling organisms found on the silver-lip pearl oyster, Pinctada maxima, taken by the Japanese divers from the North Australian bed in the Arafura Sea, holothurians comprised 8 species as follows: Cucumaria versicolor, Pentacta crassa var. dyscrita, Pentacta tuberculosa, Pentacta coerulea, Pentacta australis, Thyone sacellus, Phyllophorus cebuensis and Phillophorus cornus. The stations where these secies were obtained and the number of individuuals are given in the table and map. Of these, Pentacta coerulea and Phyllophorus cebuensis seem to be more prevalent as fouler than the others. Heding's Pentacta crassa var. dyscrita and Phyllophorus cornus, both of which are previously known only from Hongkong, were re-discovered there.
