Upon the muscular administration of single drop of "Enarmon", a hormonal extract prepared from urine of the human male youth, in full grown female specimen of Archeilognatus in extra-nuptial period the protrusion of oviduct takes place within half an hour. The organ protrudes 2cm long and assumes rosa color, while any change in fin coloration stands so far off. In good contrast with this, following injections of "Synhormon", a synthetic product of male sex hormone, as well as of "Puberogen", preparation out of the anterior lobe of hypophysis, the nuptial coloration appears, though in a rather varying tint, in the dorsal and anal fin of the female within half an hour. Whereas the protrusion of oviduct is missed entirely. Following injection of Enarmon into the female during the nuptial period, the protrusion of oviduct is accelerated to 3cm within half an hour. Anal fin gets tinted slightly scarlet for a few weeks. Appearance of melanophore upon the lower body surface, as it is always the case with the male, is missed, while the second row of the dorsal fin ray grows much darker and the pectoral fin lesser. With Synhormon and Puberogen there is observed no acceleration of oviduct either. Effect of "Ovahormon", an extract of the ovarial follicle, upon the female in the nuptial period is manifested in an over-protrusion of oviduct, a markedly dark taint of the second row of the dorsal fin ray and a lesser taint of the pectoral fin. Reactions of a more prompt and intensive nature is produced in the female in the extranuptial period by vitamine E sample (courtesy of Sankyo & Co., Tokyo). Within quarter of an hour the caudal ridge of the dorsal and anal fins gets tinted freshly scarlet. The oviduct is 81/2cm in length, curved caudalward and of brownish rosa color. In the female in the nuptial period the effect of injection is similar to that of Ovahormon. It is well to be seen that each of the hormonal principles originating from different sexes works differently upon the female generic sphere of the fish and produces manifestations each differing in mode, grade and effecting station from the other.
