Pseudoperilampus uyekii sp. nov. (Fig. 1) Head 3.9 in body length; depth 2.6; D. III, 9; A. III, 9; P. 12; V. 6; scales 5-32-3; eye 2.9 in head; snout 3.8; interorbital space 2.3; pectoral 1.3; ventral 1.6; pharyngeal teeth 5-5, plicated at sides, hooked at the tips. Body much compressed, rather deep, deepest through the origin of dorsal; ventral outline less strongly arched than dorsal outline; head rather small, nape rather concave; snout bluntly pointed; mouth small, terminal, protractile; maxillary reaching below the anterior margin of eye; no barbels present; eye rather large, its diameter larger than the length of snout; interorbital space widely convex; nostrils very closely approximated, and near eye. Gill membranes extending below posterior margin of preopercle; gill-rakers minute. Peritoneum black; intestine long, with numerous convolutions. Lateral line lacking, scales in corresponding series in no way modified. Origin of dorsal inserted midway between the tip of snout and the base of caudal, upper edge straight, first spinous ray shorter than half length of the second spinous ray; anal similar to dorsal, but shorter, its origin inserted under fourth dorsal branched ray; pectorals and ventrals small, the former not quite reaching the latter, which are inserted in advance of dorsal and reach beyond vent; caudal deeply emarginate; caudal peduncle well compressed, its least depth 2 in head. Color in formalin very deep brown, becoming paler on both sides and below; shoulder spot behind angle of gill opening large, but smaller than pupil, triangular; a blue black lateral stripe along middle sides of body, its width less than half as wide as pupil, tapering to a point under the origin of dorsal and shortly before the base of caudal; dorsal with a large black spot on anterior portion; other fins pale, without visible pattern; but in a live fish, along the middle of caudal with a longitudinal reddish stripe. Total length 49 mm. Described and figured from a female specimen from the river Kan at Keijo. Remarks: The present species is closely related to Ps. atremius (Jordan & Thompson) and Rhodeus sciosemus (Jordan and Thompson) from Kiusiu, but differs from the former in having fewer dorsal branched rays (8-9 instead 10), very definite shoulder spot just behind angle of gill opening, very narrow lateral band, a large black spot anteriorly on dorsal; and also differs from the latter in having pharyngeal teeth with plicate sides, very definite shoulder spot in females, and smaller pectorals. Named in honour of Dr. Homiki Uyeki, the Professor of Suigen Agricultural Colledge. Pseudoperilampus suigensis sp. nov. (Fig. 2) Head 4.0 in body length; depth 2.8; D. III, 10; A. III, 10; P. 12; V. 6; scales 4-32-3; eye 2.8 in head; snout 3.7; interorbital space 2.5; pectoral 1.3; ventral 1.3; pharyngeal teeth 5-5, plicated at sides, its tips hooked. Origin of dorsal nearer the tip of snout than the base of caudal; pectorals long, nearly reaching to the origin of ventrals; ventrals reaching to the origin of anal; no barbels present; lateral line present only in first four scales. A blue black lateral stripe narrow, less than half width of pupil, beginning from the middle origin of caudal and continued to within five scales of angle of gill opening; shoulder spot behind angle of gill opening large, but smaller than pupil; dorsal with a prominent, definite blueblack spot nearly triangular; anal narrowly edged with black in males only. Total length 43 mm. Decsribed and figured from a male specimen from Suigen, Central Corea. Remarks: The present species is closely allied to Ps. uyekii of the former species and Rhodeus sciosemus (Jordan & Thompson), but differs from the former in having slenderer body, lateral line present in first four scales, anteriorly situated dorsal, longer lateral stripe, more dorsal branched rays; and also differs from the latter in having pharyngeal teeth with plicate sides, anteriorly situated dorsal and longe
