We propose 1.38 μm zero-dispersion fiber that can be applied to access or metropolitan networks without the use of dispersion compensating fibers or modules. We describe our design considerations for 1.38 μm zero-dispersion fiber with a view to determining suitable fiber parameters taking bending loss into account and compare fiber characteristics.
