Tadpole shrimps collected from 14 districts of Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu were morphologically examined and compared with those from China, France and North America to establish the classification of Japanese Triops. As the result, it was clarified that three of the four species found in the world, T. longicaudatus, T. granarius and T. cancriformis, are distributed in Japan, and that there are two races in each of the former two species.
