6-Acetyl-2-amino-4-hydroxy-7, 8-dihydropteridine, the third yellow pigment isolated from the sepia mutant of Drosophila melanogaster, is found to be deaminated by silkworm sepiapterin deaminase. The reaction product is characterized as the lumazine form of the pteridine served as the substrate by means of paper chromatography and absorption spectroscopy.
