The immunoelectrophoretic technique was applied to investigation of interspecific relationships of some Japanese frogs. Antigens were prepared with physiological saline extract of the frog liver and antisera were obtained from rabbbits immunized with the antigens. Heterologous and non-identity reactions were reciprocally performed in all combinations of every 2 species, and the weighted pair-group method was applied on the numbers of arcs for grouping of the frog species. The results obtained showed that (1) Rana nigromaculata, R. brevipoda, and R.rugosa form an infrageneric group and the former two species being very closely allied, (2) R. japonica and R. catesbeiana also form an another infrageneric group, (3) R. limnocharis is different from the above-mentioned congeneric species, and (4) Hyla arborea japonica representing Hylidae apparently differs from the 6 species of Ranidae.
