Three scales of wild fish of Oryzias latipes were transplanted into adult fish of the orange-red variety of the same species. A total of 20 fish were examined and all allografts were rejected. The thymus of each recipient was histologically examined at 6, 10, 20, 30 and 50 days after the transplantation. Within 20 days no significant changes were observed but at 30 and 50 days after transplantation, unmistakable cysts formed in the thymus of the recipient. It is probable that these changes are related to the immune response from the rejection of the transplantation.
