• Photobehavioral responses were measured in respect to the length of dark adaptation in the catfish. Silurus asotus. The light stimulation had dual effect on the activities, inhibition and excitation with the period of dark adaptation for less than 4hr and for more than 5hr, respectively. The excitatory photobehavioral responses were assessed for the measurement of light threshold.
