Making an acoustic model of the vocal tract with Finite Element Method needs a huge number of nodes and elements. In order to ease the problem, we propose two kind of techniques: The Matrix Condernsation technique and the Transfer Matrix technique. With both techniques we need so much smaller matrices and we keep the same accuracy of the solution. In this paper, the principle of each technique will be explained in details for a simple example. A comparison between a standard Finite Element model results and those which be improved with the Matrix Condensation and the Transfer Matrix techniques will be demonstrated and discussed. At the end we compare transfer functions for different section shapes that could be used for the vocal tract model.
