The adaptive IIR filter is very convenient for the noisy sinusoid signal detection. But most high order adaptive IIR filter have some drawbacks, such as: stability problem, convergence to local minimum and difficult to analyze etc. The proposed first order adaptive IIR filter can overcome these problems. The convergence and steady state mean sequence error analysis of the frequency estimator of the adaptive IIR filter are derived. The simulation verifies the excellent performance of this filter, that is an unbias and small mean square error in noisy sinusoid signal detection.
