Influence of vacuum annealing of MgO protective layer on secondary electron emission coefficient(γ)and luminous efficiency in AC-PDP

In this research, the secondary electron emission coefficient (γ) of vacuum annealed MgO films has been investigated by γ-focused ion beam(γ-FIB)system. The vacuum annealed MgO films have been found to have higher γvalues ranged from 0.06 up to 0.13 than those for as-deposited MgO films ranged from 0.03 up to 0.06 for Ne^+ ion energies from 50eV to 200eV. Also it is found that the vacuum annealed MgO protective layers have lower discharge voltage and higher luminous efficiency than those for as-deposited MgO protective layers.
