On the 14 December 2003. FedSat completed a year of successful operations, marking a significant achievement for Australia's Cooperative Research Centre for Satellite Systems (CRCSS), and those bodies around the world, including JAXA, who helped make this possible. As the satellite enters its second year of operations, with its systems operating strongly, it is worth reviewing the highlights of operations and scientific achievements until now. This paper reviews the FedSat project from inception, to its launch by HII-A vehicle, and through more than 12 months of operations. It discusses the ground stations, and the status of all payloads and scientific research programmes, In conclusion, almost all functionality was achieved, and we are looking forward to two more years of valuable operations.
