This paper concerns with the design consideration and performances of a 37 GHz chip antenna integrated with a GaAs HJFET oscillator for identification and short range communication systems. The active antenna has been tested directly using a porbe station with a calibration technique to be explained hereafter. The overall chip size is 4 mm x 2 mm.
