The wireless network using stratospheric platforms(SPF)is attracting interests as a new network infrastructure different from terrestrial and satellite networks. This paper focuses on the design concept and current status of the development of two types of multibeam antenna to be mounted on board the engineering test flight model of stratospheric platform. They are multibeam horn antennas in 48 / 47 GHz band and digital beamforming array antenna in 20 / 30 GHz band. The launches of the test flight models are scheduled in mid 2000s in Japan for use in the experiments and demonstration of airship technology, communication, broadcasting, and environmental observations. The multibeam antennas are designed for use in a high-speed wireless network.
