EXACT SOLUTIONS OF GEL'FAND-LEVITAN EQUATION FOR A TYPE OF REFLECTION COEFFICIENTS

The Gel'fand-Levitan equation is a famous integral equation in the field of inverse scattering problem. Under certain conditions, the equation has closed-form exact solutions. In this paper, the differential-operator method is used to exactly solve the Gel'fand-Levitan equation for a type of rational fractional reflection coefficients. General solutions are given for this type of reflection coefficients and compared to the existing results from the method of undetermined coefficient by some authors, the mistake in their solutions is found and the cause is pointed out.
