An asynchronous circuit is speed-independent if it is hazard-free under the unbounded gate delay model. There are a number of techniques for obtaining such circuits from the signal transition graph (STG) specifications. We present the design of an asynchronous controller to introduce our new synthesis method which handles STGs with multi-cycle signals and free-choice operation.
