A new image analysis and image processing technique which split the band in the Fresnel transform signal domain has been proposed. There are two methods to solve the Fresnel integral equation. By using the two different Fresnel transform equation, scaling of input image is performed. When input image is down-scaled, the alias signal is generated in the calculation of Fresnel transformed signal and it appear in the different region by the reconstruction using the another Fresnel transform method. Since the alias signal in the down-scaled image domain appear as the edge component of the image having higher frequency of input image, the energy of the alias signal concentrate to certain region like the Wavelet image analysis. In this paper, band-split of Fresnel transformed signal in the image region is described and that technique is compared with the Wavelet image analysis. As an example of application to image processing, image enhancement of noisy images are performed. The results show that the proposed technique has the potential to the image processing application.
