Traffic measurement plays an important part in ITS as an useful information for control centers and drivers. In this paper, we propose a method which detects vehicles and measures traffic from image sequences taken in a tunnel. In a tunnel, camera height is so low that vehicles often overlap each other when traffic is congested. And it is difficult to separate them. In this method, we detect vehicle-model from a horizontal edge and left-side area of a vehicle. Then we count vehicles by tracking models and using their accumulated evaluation. This algorithm is tested using tunnel traffic images.
