Microphone array technique can improve SNR and estimate accuracy of direction-of-arrival (DOA), therefore, it is expected as a useful tool to design human-machine interface. Since the microphone array technique is spatial multi-dimensional processing, the expansion of its aperture caused by many microphones is the problem to be solved. To overcome the problem, it is necessary to scale down its aperture by reducing the number of microphone. We propose a novel estimation method of DOA for vowel sound using two microphones. The performance of the proposed method is demonstrated by both computer simulation and expenment.
