This paper introduces PanoVi, a versatile panorama movie system based on 3D model. The system can capture and playback 360-degree movies. We use general-purpose wideangle video cameras to capture movies, and commodity PCs with 3D graphics acceleration hardware to playback. The system arranges captured movies in virtual 3D space and renders partial view of arbitrary direction. Geometric correction and image mosaicking are performed in real-time by 3D graphics acceleration hardware. As the system based on 3D model, it can support a change of cameras arrangement flexibly and be applicable for a super wide angle movie system. We developed a prototype system based on Microsoft Windows and DirectX9 environments. We confirmed fullrate interactive panoramic movie playback on commodity Pentium4 based PCs
