概要

• Personal and wireless-access communications have been progressing rapidly, and the frequency band is now required to be much higher for variety of operations. This paper reviews the recent progress, as well as the related technical issues for the future personal communication era. Monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) technology, which should be a key technology for handy terminals, is also described focusing on novel three-dimensional (3-D) and Master-Slice MMICs for high-density integration and shorter turn-around-time (TAT) development.
