• One of the most common problems in character recognition is the fact of finding characters in a digital image having adverse conditions. The high variability of illumination on backgrounds and the large amount of noise existing on digital images usually make this separation process very difficult. This paper presents a method which is able to separate characters adequately from the background even having adverse conditions.
