KOrea Multi Purpose SATellite (KOMPSAT) project is a series of development of LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite with multiple missions and its ground stations which are MCE (Mission Control Element) and IRPE (Image Reception and Processing Element). The first KOMPSAT (KOMPSAT-l) project is successfully completed in 1999, and the satellite, which was launched in December of 1999, is currently performing its mission very successfully with the support and control from MCE. Starting from the year 2000, the development of KOMPSAT-2 and its ground control system is on the way. For the development of Mission Control Element which will monitor and control KOMPSAT-2, object oriented design method is applied to increase the reusability.
