[Invited]IP Multimedia Service in CDMA2000 and UMTS based Networks

To Support IP Multimedia Service and Core Network Harmonization between CDMA2000 and WCDMA based Networks, we developed IMS(IP Multimedia Service) Infra based on SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). This paper describes how the SIP can help provide the harmonization of the core networks and multimedia service such as Instant Communications Service and Presence Service. It also proposes the call flow for service registration and multimedia session setup. SKT's IMS Infra is positioned as a Pre-R5/R6 standard system. We will continue to evolve to support full 3GPP R5/R6 IMS functionality
