Conditioned response is involved in the development of diseases, especially functional diseases. This is also the case with airway constriction, which means an immediate constriction of the respiratory passage caused by a certain stimulus. It includes not only physical and or chemical stimuli but also emotional stresses. In the biofeedback therapy, we notify the patients of their current physical conditions using an instrument so that they can practice by themselves to improve the information indicated on the instrument, we continuously measure the patients' respiratory resistance (R.r.) using the apparatus named the Respiratory Resistance Meter and show the measured data to them. The patients are instructed to continue respiratory practices in order to lower the R.r. value and to restore it to the normal level. This method helps mitigate the patients' reaction of immediate airway constriction. When the patient is strongly conditioned, the method proved to be quite effective.
