Invigoration of Alpha waves Using EEG Feedback System by Photic Driving

We developed an "EEG (electroencephalogram) feedback system by photic driving" to alleviate mental stress as a behavior therapy. This system invigorates alpha waves by photic (stimulus) signals the brightness of which is modulated by a subject's own brain waves. The light for the photic signal is extremely weak, and hence there are few sides effects such as epilepsy. Further, the system can also lower the frequency of the alpha waves as well as reinforcing them. We confirmed their effects in the experiments and examined the special distributions of brain waves in using this system by EEG topography.
