Geologic structure of northern Kanto and its surrounding areas is discussed and an idea is shown in this report. Geologic strcuture of this area is characterized by overlap of bending zonal structure and blocks tructure. The former structure is eastern extention of the zonal structure of southwest Japan. In this area, the zonal structure shows strong bending. One is embayment in the Fossa Magna area, the other is bending to north in northern Kanto area. In Paleogeneage, the Southwest Japan drifted from the Asiatic continent to south with opening the Japan sea; as a result, the bending of this area came into existance. The latter structure is blocking structure by northeast-southwest trending and northwest-southeast trending tectonic lines. This blocking structure controls the distribution of Neogene system, so called "Green Tuff". This structure has exisisted since Neogene age. The Kashiwazaki-Choshi Tectonic Line, one of the northwest-southeast trending tectonic lines, is the eastern boundary of the Fossa Magna as far as Neogene geology.
