As the result of viewing on 2053 decayed pieces of all extracted teeth, we've reached the conclusions mentioned below, with respect to decayed conditions of all the approximal surface, the buccal surface, the lingual surface, and the occlusal surface of the every teeth crown, the neck and the root. 1) At the rate of all teeth being decayed at both the upper and the lower jaw, come the neck, the crown and the root in the order from high to low. 2) The crown : As to all the teeth of the upper jaw, come the approximal surface, the occlsual surface, the buccal surface and the lingual surface in the order. And while, as to the lower jaw come the occlusal surface, The approximal surface, the buccal surface and the lingual surface in the order. The neck & the root : As for all the teeth of both the upper and the lower jaw, come the approximal surface, the buccal surface and the lingual surface in the order. 3) Comparsion of all the sides being in decay : Concerning all the teeth of the upper jaw the approximal surface falls most of all into decay. It is same with all the teeth of the lower jaw as these of the upper jaw. And there isn't large disparity among the occlusal surface, the buccal surface and the lingual surface at the upper jaw, and on the other hand, at the lower jaw the occlusal surface is apt to fall into decay far more than the buccal surface and the lingual surface. 4) Rate of every tooth being decayed : Regarding the central incisor of the upper jaw, come the crown, the neck and the root in the order from high to low at the rate of being decayed. The neck is most liable to be decayed as to the six teeth from the central incisor to the first molar of the lower jaw. It shows that the root of front teeth falls into decay more than that of the molars. 5) The approximal surface gives the highest rate of being decayed as to the front teeth of the upper jaw together with the lower jaw. And, the occlusal surface of the premolar and molars is liable to be decayed much next to the approximal surface. 6) In accordance with our observation on the number of portions being decayed for a single tooth, there are more front teeth which are being decayed than premolar and molars.
