The author have been observed tow types of colonial variants which were named the mycerial type and the blastospore type in Candida albicans on the corn meal starch agar and had comparative investigations in those two colonial variants. The results of experiments are summarized as follows. 1. On Sabouraud's glucose agar, there were no differences in morphological aspects of the cultures between the mycerial and blastospore types, and both of variants made creamy normal forms. 2. In several cultural and fermentative properties with classification by Martin and others there were not any recognizable changes between mycerial and blastospore types, and were also observed the same results as in the other experimental properties (heat sensitivity, resitance to disinfectants, pathogenicity and antigenicity.) 3. In the chlamydospore formation, were observed that mycerial types easily developed the chlamydospores but difficult in the blastospore types.
