A survey on the status of occupational injuries among workers of yawata Iron & steel, Inc. has that revealedoral injuries occupied about 1% of the total, the actual number decreased yearly approximately in proportion to the decrease of the total number of injury. Seasonally, these accidents took place more freguently in cold season extending from November to May, than in other months of the year, and the most frequent hours of the day for them to occur were from 9 to 12 o'clock a. m. when workers were busily engaged in their duty and from 1 to 3 o'clock p. m. when they were appointed for work shift. The most frequent age stage of the subjects to suffer the injuries was the twenties, followed by the thirties and then the forties. From the view point of service year of the subjects, those who served from 2 to 4 years were most busily to suffer the injuries. Of the causes of she injuries, bruies ranked first with 78.6% of the total, followed by tumble aud fall. In oral injuries the tooth damage occupied 84.3%, the mandibular fracture 9.2% and the soft tissue damage 6.2%, the tooth damage occured in the upper jaw 74.1% and especially in the central and lateral incisors.
