Age-hardening of the alloy studied was mostly attributed to the lattice strains of the supersaturated α phase resulting from the transformation to the metastable phases, which were more distinct at lower aging temperature.The lattice strains resulting from the transformation of the metastable phases to the equilibrium phases also made a contribution to the age-hardening.
