We conducted this research on menu-planning as learned in Homemaking Education classes, for the purpose of finding out how effective learning is and in improving instruction. Method of evaluating students' ability to plan menus were discussed. Research was conducted on their ability as seen in the learning stages of elementary, junior and senior high schools. In terms of selection of food items from the food groups, we found difference between elementary school children and senior high school students; and between junior high school and senior high schools. No clear idea about how effective learning was in each of the three stages of junior high school was obtained.
